Red, White & Skull

Happy Fourth of July!

I cheated because we were in a major hurry, so the vanilla sheet cake is from a box. The icing is home made though! I should also mention that being Canadian, our flag doesnt look very pretty on a cake. The American flag however is delicious as a cake, but the fiance is not excited about the state of American and refused to make it a full blown American flag - hence the skull.

Cream Cheese Icing

1/2 stick Butter (I use salted)
8oz Cream Cheese
3 cups Confectioners Sugar (a.k.a. powdered sugar)
2 teaspoons Vanilla

Cream together the room temperature butter and cream cheese. Add the sugar and vanilla, ta-dah! Delish! Home-made icing so good people will ask if it's store bought! We went to a BBQ last night and the cake was such a hit that it was completely gone 5 minutes after I set it down. It was the talk of the night! <3
